Gross’ Burgers, nestled in Danville, finds itself amidst a storm of backlash on social media. The catalyst? A contentious bumper sticker adorning the restaurant’s walls, sparking accusations of racism.
The viral spread of a bumper sticker, initially captured by a dismayed customer and shared widely, has thrust Gross’ Burgers into the spotlight, branded as “absolutely disgusting.” Despite mounting pressure, the restaurant owner remains resolute in their decision to retain the controversial sticker.
Nonetheless, the customer who initially shared the restaurant’s picture remains deeply unsettled. Sam Schnelle’s Facebook post, accompanied by a scathing caption – “f— Grossburgers. Absolutely disgusting.” – garnered over 800 shares. Schnelle’s attempt to address the issue directly with the restaurant proved fruitless, as she received no favorable response regarding the removal of the sticker.
“They then passed the phone to the manager, who firmly stated, ‘We are most certainly not taking it down. YOU PEOPLE are too sensitive nowadays,’ and proceeded to dismiss any suggestions or concerns I raised, before abruptly hanging up,” she recounted, adding a touch of sarcasm, “Nice.”
