In the last century, women have joined the workforce in the millions. In this day and age, strict gender roles are a thing of the past. Husbands and wives divide their responsibilities in a much more equitable way.
But of course, there are some women even in his generation who are adamant on maintaining certain gender roles and upholding them as best as they can.
Estee Williams, 25, is married to Connor, 23. Estee has faced criticism online due to her choice to embrace the role of a ‘traditional wife’ or housewife. She takes pride in managing all the domestic responsibilities at home and finds satisfaction in fulfilling the conventional gender role of a wife.

Estee was studying meteorology when she met her future husband in 2020. The Virginia couple quickly bonded over shared interests and fell in love. Her husband works full-time as an electrician, and Estee prefers to handle household chores herself, rarely expecting him to assist with tasks when he comes home.
Estee not only cooks and cleans for her husband, but she also allows him to guide her day. She refrains from going to the gym without him and seeks his approval for any purchases beyond groceries. Additionally, she ensures her hair and makeup are done before he returns home.

The couple doesn’t have children yet, but when they do, they anticipate that Estee will continue to manage the home and care for the children. They also intend to homeschool their kids to maintain control over their academic learning.
Estee grew up in a broken home and witnessed her mother’s struggles following a divorce. The 25-year-old does not believe that women can have it all. Despite some on social media accusing her of being “lazy” for not contributing financially, Estee appreciates the freedom from work and financial stress.
