Baby who weighed 16 pounds in 1983 is now an adult and still known for his huge size

In 1983, Patricia Clarke, a 24-year-old mother, was pregnant with her second child. Based on her family’s history of having large babies, she had a feeling her baby might be on the bigger side. However, she never expected the baby to be as large as it turned out to be.

Patricia welcomed her baby boy, Kevin Robert Clark, into the world. He made an immediate impression, tipping the scales at over 16 pounds! This extraordinary weight made him the largest baby ever born at Community Memorial Hospital and possibly the largest in New Jersey. Kevin was too big for standard cribs and baby clothes, but despite his size, he was a healthy newborn.

Kevin’s size drew widespread attention, making headlines nationwide. He was even featured on popular TV shows such as “Saturday Night Live” and “Good Morning America.”

However, Kevin’s growth continued at a remarkable pace. By the age of 12, he had already reached a height of 5 feet 7 inches, and his growth didn’t slow down. By the time he was in junior high, he stood at 6 feet 5 inches. Kevin had grown accustomed to people’s curiosity about his height and approached it with humor. He often quipped, “I like to joke that I’m 5-foot-21. When people ask if I play basketball, I respond by asking if they play miniature golf.”

Today, Kevin is 39 years old and stands at 6 feet 9 inches tall. A former military serviceman, he now lives with his 6-foot-tall wife and their Great Dane. Kevin has embraced his exceptional height, sharing that he’s accustomed to towering over nearly everyone else.

Kevin’s life has been a journey of navigating the attention and curiosity of others, yet he appears to be thriving. He serves as a prime example of embracing your uniqueness and living with self-assurance. Kevin’s story is undeniably inspiring, and we wish him continued success in the future!
